What it is
cvdesk is a CV platform for Dutch job seekers, usable in Dutch, English and German. The builder is free and needs no account: pick a design, fill in your details, and the preview updates as you type with autosave. You pay once, €6.95, when you download, and you can download that CV again as often as you like after edits. Other CV builders charge around €22 a month for the same download; cvdesk never renews.
The part that goes further than the document is the AI layer: it scores a CV against a specific vacancy, reads it the way a recruiter does in seven seconds, writes the cover letter and the application email, and answers questions about why the CV is not getting replies. Every suggestion is tied to evidence you supplied; nothing is invented, and you approve every change.
Once you have an account, the dashboard keeps everything together: your CVs with their thumbnails, the Job-Fit analyses you have run, the applications you are tracking, an upload button for an existing CV and a New CV button. Fourteen CVs on one account is normal; a CV per vacancy is the point.
How it works
The product frames itself as three steps, and you keep control at each one.
- Build your CV. Choose one of 15 designs (Amsterdam, Helder and the machine-readable ATS Pure are free) and fill in the sections. Upload an existing CV to start from, add a photo, switch the language. Download as a visual PDF plus an ATS PDF in one go.
- Find or paste a vacancy. Search the job board, which refreshes daily with vacancies from the Netherlands, Germany, the UK and the US, including salary, location and full text, or paste a vacancy yourself. Job-Fit shows how well you match with an explainable score, strengths and gaps.
- Let AI apply. The cover letter and the application email are written from your CV and the vacancy, sent through Gmail or Outlook, and tracked in the free application tracker.
The Apply page is the job board from inside the account. Search by role or keyword and city, filter on distance, posting date, employment type and workplace, switch the country, and every vacancy carries an Apply with AI button that writes the cover letter and the email from your CV. Already found a vacancy elsewhere? Paste the text and the same engine runs on it. Every application then lands on a board with five columns, wishlist, applied, interview, offer and rejected, where you drag it forward and keep the cover letter attached.
The AI layer
- Job-Fit. Paste a vacancy and see exactly how well the CV fits, with a score you can read the reasons for, not a vague guess.
- Recruiter scan. The seven-second look of a recruiter: first impression, doubts, and what needs fixing right away.
- Talk to your CV. A coach that knows your CV and your cover letters. Ask what is weak, why you get no replies, and how to make it stronger.
- Evidence, not invention. The AI rewrites only from what you supplied and marks what is missing. You approve every suggestion.

Under the hood
A pasted vacancy is used once to analyse the CV: only a structured profile of it (title, requirements, keywords) is kept and the raw text is discarded. It is never published and never used to train a model. Data stays as long as the account exists, and a CV or the whole account can be deleted at any time. The site measures conversions with consent defaults set to denied and sets no tracking cookies.
